Clamato juice. That’s right – clam and
tomato juice. Two flavours that belong together. Y’all Americans like to say
you’re the greatest country in the world and all that, but until I can go into
any bar in any state, order a Bloody Caesar, and not be met by a blank stare from the bartender, we can’t even pretend that’s the truth.

I believe in the freedom to imbibe as one will! (That said, I'm not a Bloody Mary gal, much less a Bloody Caesar one. It's just me.)
ReplyDeleteI can't stand a bloody Mary. Blech. Can't really say I like tomato juice at all.
DeleteI'm with you there.
DeleteI think I learned about Bloody Caesars from you. But then I became allergic to tomatoes, so it's all moot.
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard of a Bloody Caesar (or don't remember if I had) until today. And clamato juice just sounds wrong. Not a big thing on this side of the planet.
ReplyDelete(PS Susan, you're the second blogger I know who became allergic to tomatoes. I'm hoping it isn't catching.)
I can't even. I'm sorry. :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter was allergic to tomatoes, mild skin and mouth reaction, and outgrew it. Hmm.
We live so close to the US border that a lot of their culture makes its way North. I'm often amazed when I find out it is often a one-way street. Americans, for example, don't know about butter tarts. Or Nanaimo bars.
ReplyDeleteI know about butter tarts and made them once for book group. They were a hit.
DeleteI have never heard of a Bloody Caesar. I do like bloody Marys though. My parents bought Clamato once to make what they called Clamato bloody Marys.
