Secrets and Lies #4 - I'll try anything!
I am chronically tired. Somehow I lost the knack for getting a good night’s sleep and so when I Google a non-medical sleep suggestion, I’ll try it. Most recently I found information that a cold shower one hour before bed will help. I’m 2 nights in, and have had 2 nights of good sleep. Probably coincidence.

That doesn't sound pleasant. Marjorie Holmes, author of God and Vitamins, was an advocate of cold showers--so cold she hopped around in the shower stall. I'll stick with melatonin.
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly bracing. I haven't had much luck with melatonin.

ReplyDeleteProbably both.
DeleteHa. The secret is that I'm one of those people who will try online cures for almost anything.
DeleteMaybe it does work. I'm not trying it though.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first read this I interpreted it as "a one-hour cold shower before bed."
ReplyDeleteI know that sleeping in a. colder room is more conducive to sleep, so maybe a cold shower works on the same principle? I wonder what this does to one's sex life, though? (Just a rhetorical question, no need to provide any empirical data.)
My room is pretty cold, too. I would argue a hot room has more of a detrimental effect on sexy-time than a cold room.
