The Secret Room

I listen to a podcast, The Secret Room. People reveal their secrets. Some are small, funny. Others are darker. This morning I listened as a woman revealed her abusive childhood. The roomful of women who held her down to perform female genital mutilation. How she stole her passport and escaped to the UK. Here’s to strong women.

    Horrible. Horrible. And it's quite amazing how people manage to flee those kinds of situations. But how horrible to think of those who can't manage to.

    I believe in reincarnation, but stories like this help to explain why I find the thought of life between lives comforting, but not the idea of the incarnations themselves.
