“A deep grasp of his original poetry requires excellent command of modern Persian, and an equally good command of Islamic prophetic traditions, and the Qur'an.”* I don’t anticipate having time to master any of those things. Instead, I’m happy to be mesmerized by the dancing of the whirling dervishes, founded in his honour.
