Passing on the stairs (Also the day I remembered we have a word-count this month)


My deeply, privately religious grandmother saw ghosts. When her mother was dying, she dreamed she saw her late father passing her on the stairs.

"Why are you here?" she asked.
"I've come to get your mother."

The next day, my great-grandmother died. My grandmother didn't consider it a dream. She saw her father. And that's all there is to it.
